How the program works

A class, not a discount.

Maximum FX runs advanced haircutting, coloring and styling training for our stylists, under the direction of our own educators. It is part of the skill certification program every stylist here works through.

To finish that program they need hair models. That is the part you would be signing up for.

An educator is always there

You are not anybody's first haircut. Every model sits with a licensed stylist, and a Maximum FX educator runs the class from the first section to the last.

What it costs you

Haircut and styling appointments are free. Color classes carry a charge for the product used in your service, and nothing beyond that.

Every class needs particular hair

One class wants fine straight hair at the shoulder. The next wants curls, or a head ready to go blonde. That is why the form asks about length, texture and density, and why we call you when a class matches your hair.

Three kinds of classes.

The form asks about all three. Say yes to one of them or to all of them, and you go on the list for each one you chose.

Haircutting

Cut classes work on shape and finish. You choose how far you are willing to go: short, which covers pixies and traditional men's cuts, medium for bobs, shags and styles at the shoulder, long for anything past it, or any length at all if you like living life on the edge.

Color

Color classes cover all over color and new growth, highlights, lowlights and balayage, a bleach out to all over blonde, and creative or fantasy shades.

What you payProduct cost

A nominal charge for the color used in your service. There is nothing else to pay.

Styling

Styling classes cover a smooth blow dry, styling that shows off your natural texture, an updo, or a twist out.

Before you sign up

Six things worth knowing.

None of this is fine print. It is the part people ask about most.

Signing up is not an appointment

The form puts you on the list. We contact you when a class needs a model with hair like yours, so signing up does not guarantee that you will be selected.

The wait depends on your hair

Some hair types come up in class often. Others wait longer, because the class that suits them comes around less often. We make every effort to reach you when a model with your hair type is needed.

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays

Training runs weekly, on those two days. If neither day ever works for you, this is not the right fit and a regular appointment will serve you better.

Current clients are not eligible

If you already see someone at Maximum FX, book with your stylist instead. Hair modeling is for guests who are not already coming to us.

Book a regular appointment at either salon. Call us or come by and we will find you a time.

Your details stay with us

We will not sell your information or offer it to anybody else. It is used to match you to a class, and for nothing else.
