Your stylist matches shade, texture and length to your own hair and plans how many rows you need. One row adds fullness. Two or three rows add length and fullness together.
Your installation
Wefts of Beauvoir hair are sewn by hand onto a secure foundation along each row, close to the scalp and hidden under your own hair. Then we cut and blend everything so it moves like yours.
Move ups every 6 to 10 weeks
As your hair grows, the rows move down. A move up brings them back to the scalp so they stay comfortable, secure and invisible, and keeps your own hair healthy underneath.

A few habits that keep them beautiful
Healthy extensions come down to how you wash, dry and brush between visits. We will walk you through all of it at your installation.
Wash gently
Two or three times a week with a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Clean the scalp and between the rows with your fingertips, and keep conditioner on the mid lengths and ends.
Dry the rows completely
Blow dry your roots and every row until they are fully dry. A damp base is hard on the install. The lengths can air dry once the roots are done.
Brush every day
Two to four times a day with a soft extension brush. Hold the hair at the root, start at the ends and work up, and brush between the rows, not just on top.
Go easy on heat
Use a heat protectant and keep hot tools at 350 degrees or lower. Never clamp an iron over the rows.
Sleep smart
Never go to bed with damp hair. Brush out tangles, put it in a loose braid or low ponytail, and use a silk or satin pillowcase.
Watch the water and the sun
Before swimming, wet your hair with clean water, add a leave in, and braid it. Rinse right after. Choose mineral sunscreen, since some chemical sunscreens can tint light extensions.
Good to know before you book
How long will the hair last?
With good care, Beauvoir hair typically lasts 9 to 16 months. Darker shades often last longest because they need less color processing.
Can I color my extensions?
They can be toned or colored by your stylist, so always bring color changes to us. We do not recommend lightening extension hair, since it shortens its life.
Will they damage my hair?
Not when they are planned and maintained well. Keeping up with your move ups is the most important part, because rows left too long put extra tension on your own hair.
Is some shedding normal?
A little, especially in the first few weeks. A noticeable loss of fullness is not, so let us know if you see it.
Which products should I use?
Sulfate free, salon quality shampoo and conditioner, plus a lightweight oil for the ends. Skip heavy masks, keratin and clarifying products. Ask your stylist which Aveda products are right for your extensions.

A few habits that keep them beautiful
Tape ins are easy to live with. A few simple habits keep the tape secure and the hair looking its best.
Give it 48 hours
Wait two full days after your application before you shampoo or condition, so the tape can bond.
Detangle, then wash
Brush out tangles before you shampoo. Use a color safe shampoo in an even, downward motion, and keep conditioner and oils away from the tape.
Blot and brush with care
Gently blot with a towel instead of rubbing. Use a detangling brush and hold your hair at the scalp to support the tape.
Blow dry smart
Separate the panels with your fingers as you dry, and start styling once your hair is about 70% dry.
Keep products off the tape
Apply your Aveda prep, styling and finishing products away from where the tape meets your hair.
Sleep, sun and swim
Brush and loosely braid your hair before bed. Use Aveda Sun Care outdoors, tie your hair up before swimming, and rinse with fresh water after.
