The benefits of switching up your shampoo and conditioner

One of the most frequent questions I get regarding products is “Which shampoo and conditioner would be best for my hair?” This is one of my favorite questions because I don’t think there’s just one answer. Everyone has certain target issues they want their products to fix like damage, dryness, dullness, etc. We have a ton of shampoos and conditioners to target these problem areas, but sometimes you can end up weighing down the hair or using a product that doesn’t provide enough moisture. This is why I am a huge advocate of using multiple shampoos and conditioners based on how your hair feels that day. As a platinum blonde I switch out three lines to get all of the benefits. When my hair is feeling elastic and weakened I use our Damage Remedy, when I start to lose my tone and get a little brassy I go for our Blue Malva, and when I feel like I want a sudsier cleanse and lighter conditioner I use the Color Conserve. By feeling and “listening” to my hair I am able to maintain my integrity and tone without weighing it down or overdoing it on the protein. Of course you don’t have to buy a ton of different products when you’re first getting started, anything we recommend based on your areas of hair difficulty will help immensely, but if you’re ready to take the next step ask one of your stylists about a second or even third shampoo and conditioner to throw in the mix!
