How often should I visit the salon?
"When do I need to come back in for my next salon visit?" This is a question I get daily as a colorist.
You just left the salon feeling fabulous and renewed! But, how often should you return to the salon? Here are a few questions to help you find the best timing for you.
Do you have gray?
Gray hair is more noticeable on darker hair, so if you color your hair darker you might have to come in sooner, like 4-6 weeks. If you color your hair lighter you usually can stretch it to 6-8 weeks. We have a great 3-week program if you can’t make it 4 weeks. The cost is $52.00 (this service does not include a blow dry) Be sure to ask your colorist if this is something you might be interested in.
Are you doing foils or new growth?
Foils can be a more blending look compared to a new growth color. You do need a little bit more growth for foils. 6–12 weeks is recommended.
New growth 4-8 weeks is the usual.
When do you start to notice your roots? Mark your calendar of when you got your hair done and use it for reference.
Ombré or Balayage
If you have a fresh balayage, you typically don’t need it refreshed for 4-6 months. BUT! Be sure to pre-book a toner to make sure you keep it that beautiful tone you love! Toners last about 4-6 weeks depending on how often you shampoo.
Timing is important for this service to prevent banding. If you goto long in between appointments you can end up with an orange band. 5-6 weeks is recommended. We can’t wait to see you again for your next appointment!
