There have been about 181 Central Texas wildfires that have burned more than 118,400 acres in the past week. These include fires in Bastrop, Henderson, Limestone, Caldwell, and Grimes counties. Burning more than 1,800 homes, claiming at least four victims, displacing hundreds of families and orphaning many pets, help is urgent and necessary.

Maximum FX will be accepting donations for relief efforts at both its Circle C and South Congress locations during regular salon hours. Necessary items include, but may not be limited to: non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries, bedding and pillows, sleeping bags, stuffed animals, and diapers for the fire victims. Water and Gatorade are also in high demand for the brave men and women fighting to contain the fire, along with baby wipes, vaseline, industrial wrap-around goggles, chapstick, plain white t-shirts and visine.

MFX is also helping Austin Pets Alive! support the orphaned and injured pets and animals of the fire. Cash donations will be given to APA! to assist with funding this effort- 100%  of your contributions will go towards boarding, food, water and supplies. If you would like to support livestock, please contact Texas Lost Pines Riding Club.

Supplies and donations will be delivered to the appropriate organization on a bi-weekly basis.

In the words of Governor Perry: “These fires are serious and widespread, and as mean as I have ever seen, burning more than 1,000 homes since this wildfire season began. Texas appreciates the resources and support we continue to receive from across the state and across the country to fight these fires, and the efforts of the brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect Texans’ lives and property. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are impacted by these fires.” Together,  we can help CTX recover.
