"Prep, Style, Finish" your way to gorgeous hair!
Prep, Style, Finish using Aveda hair care systems.
Follow Aveda's "prep, style, finish" technique to protect your hair, create your style and lock it in all day long. Each of the three steps are just as equally important when working to maintain excellent hair care and creating style that lasts all day.
Prep: The prepping step is important because these products will protect your hair from humidity and heat, while adding moisture and preparing it to be styled. Damage Remedy™ Daily Hair Repair™, a leave-in conditioner and heat protectant, instantly detangles and repairs damaged hair. Other excellent prepping products include Brilliant™ Damage Control™, Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep™, and the new Be Curly™ Style-Prep™. To correctly use these products, apply after using your favorite Aveda shampoo and conditioner on towel-dried hair before blow-drying.
Style: This step is when you will really create your look. The products you use to help style your hair will work to create volume and help to curl or straighten hair. These products are also applied to damp hair and work best when cocktailed with their prepping counterpart. For example, pair Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep™ with Smooth Infusion™ Glossing Straightener™ during the styling phase. Also, try Be Curly™ Style-Prep™ with Be Curly™ Curl Enhancer™ to really activate curl and reduce frizz.
Finish: Last, but definitely not least, this step is practiced at the end of your beauty routine on dry, styled hair. The use of any finishing product will put the last touches on your style to make it uniquely yours by adding texture and shine, while also locking it in to last all day long. Popular finishing products include Light Elements™ Texturizing Crème™ and Light Elements™ Smoothing Fluid™. To lock in style, try Air Control™, for a medium hold, or Control Force™, for a firm hold, during your finishing step. By pairing partnering products and following these three simple steps, you will protect your hair from outside damages, create the style that best fits you and make it last all day long!
