Homemade Insect repellentThe mosquito invasion is upon us! Keeping yourself and your family itch free is a priority in the summer, especially with mosquitos carrying West Nile. What some of you may not know is that common insect repellants contain DEET which is toxic to infants. There are some safe brands out there if you don't mind forking over the extra money; Intelligent Nutrients for $26.50, California Baby for $15.49, also Honest Company for $12.95. If you would rather a more affordable option try making your own at home with this easy recipe:

Combine in a 16oz bottle:

15 drops lavender oil

3-4 tbsp of vanilla extract

1/4 cup lemon juice

fill bottle with water

Shake when ready to use as a topical spray!
