It's Earth Month, and we have some exciting activities and drawings planned to raise money for the Lower Mississippi River Keeper, Gulf Restoration Network and Global Green Grants. Read on to get familiar with the organizations that do so much to keep our water clean in the USA and across the world.
Lower Mississippi River Keeper
As part of the Waterkeeper Alliance their goal is to champion clean water and the communities which it serves.
The Lower Mississippi RIVERKEEPER® is the first project of its kind for Louisiana and the first on the Mississippi River. They serve to energize current activists to participate in environmental decisions, educate the public and government leaders about environmental challenges and economic opportunities regarding the Mississippi River and how reduced water pollution benefits all of us.
Gulf Restoration Network
The GRN's vision is that the Gulf of Mexico will continue to be a natural, economic, and recreational resource that is central to the culture and heritage of five states and three nations. The people of the region will be stewards of this vital but imperiled treasure, and they will assume the responsibility of returning the Gulf to its previous splendor.
Global Green Grants
Global Greengrants makes small grants to community projects that make our world safer, healthier, and more just. As the leading environmental fund that supports grassroots action on a global scale, Global Greengrants, a 501(c)3 public charity, has directed more than $45 million in grants to grassroots initiatives in 163 countries.
